Hi i’m Xavi!

Photography for me

I’ve always enjoyed capturing moments in time, I remember one vacation in Italy where we brought this small camera and I photographed everything, from lizards to grapes to having the camera in my brothers face. And I’m still as amazed by how it is even possible to even capture a moment at all, let alone the right ones.

I grew up in Leiden, a small city in South-Holland, and even though it is my home the only thing I’ve ever really wanted is to explore any place, anywhere, anything that I’ve never seen or experienced before.

While I started as dog photographer, it quickly became about photographing everything that I found interesting. I found the most inspiration in photographing new places while traveling or exploring. But when I’m not doing either of those things I’ve found myself having a lot of fun with photographing people’s experiences. From their wedding to family and couple shoots, events and dance performances, birthday party’s and making portrait photo’s of too many people to count.

I like to work a lot with my surroundings and finding a creative way to frame the shots, you’ll also notice I focus a lot on details and the overall feeling a location or event is giving me. I want to tell stories that need telling, I want to travel places that need hearing, I want to show everyone including myself that anything is possible if you work hard enough.
